In Thrissur, India

The New Year had hardly come in when I was off to India
to judge at their National Pigeon Association’s first-ever
show held in Thrissur. My flight was on January 2 and on
arrival I was met by NPA President Muhammed Najeeb and
Shihab Said, the NPA Treasurer. As my suitcase hadn’t made
the connection in Doha I had to wait for ages while the
airline staff took my particulars and arranged to forward it to
the hotel the next day.

judges, Sami Mater from Bahrain, Abdelaziz Alfardan from
UAE who was judging the Indian Fantails and Senthil Arasu
from India, who was going to judge the Indian breeds which
we were not familiar with. We were then taken to the show
hall where there was a lot of activity going on setting up the
show. There was a total entry of over 1200.
The morning of the show we were taken back and ev-
erything was in place and looking good. The local Member of
Parliament was introduced and then a number of presenta-
tions to charities were handed out – mainly to help disadvan-
taged children and handicapped people. Very good causes.
A very pretty young woman, Anjana, took over the mi-
crophone and she did an excellent job for the two days of the
show, letting everyone know which breeds were going to be
