10 – Purebred PIGEON

African Owls are a breed I keep myself and I was pleased to see

some nice birds present. A few of the Whites I thought could have

been slightly smaller and the heads rounder, but I found a real doll of

a Black hen belonging to Renjith K Devraj, Thiruvalla. She was very

small, very round head and stood nicely all the time.

The Muffed Tumblers had a lot of birds with the wrong beak

setting and long beaks, some even badly needing a trim. A few Whites

were slightly better, but had more of an oval head shape rather than

round and weak in beaks. But there were a couple of birds that stood

out. A Black hen and Black cock which for me was an easy winner.

This cock was nice size and had the correct round head and straight

set beak looking straight out. This bird belonged to Arjun Kannur.

Sami judged many breeds and we then judged a few breeds

together. Lahores were a big class and after our combined effort we

chose a nice Yellow as champion.

As you would expect, there were many Indian Fantails for
